Mylo Helps Your Child Interact With Society

Date: October 2, 2015 Categories: News

Today is another look into the world of Mylo from the book “I’m NOT Complaining, Just Explaining.”  This book is a wonderful way to interact with your kids and allow them to learn about the world around them through Mylo’s experiences.

Mylo is going to school as a kindergartener where he interacts with a large segment of his peers / classmates.  In one reading within the book, Mylo states:

“One of my new classmates, Johnny, sits next to me.   He is kind of messy and isn’t very nice.  I’m NOT Complaining, Just Explaining.”

Remember that school is a big exposure to society.  Your kids meet other kids who are the same as well as different when they go to school.  From Mylo’s position, Johnny is not a child with whom he may want to interact.  If the child is not very nice, I don’t blame him right?  I’m sure if we take a quick second to think back to our early school years we can come up with a ‘real’ Johnny we knew.

Interactions at this age are important.  And you as a parent will have a chance to open times of communication though the Mylo stories.  Learning who your child’s classmates are, how they can try to interact with them (even though they may not want to), and what to do if a bullying situation may occur are just a few items you might discuss from just one page of this book.

Mylo’s experiences and statements are common.  And “I’m NOT Complaining, Just Explaining” is a wonderful way for you and your child to bond as you read about Mylo and his experiences together.
